The Chilluminati, in our 5th year, present a 3 day festival focusing on psychedelic music, art, and culture, all within the Earthdance concept. This is an official and registered Earthdance event.

Earthdance, the Global Dance Festival for Peace has grown to become the world’s largest simultaneous music and dance event. Founded in 1996, with 22 cities and 18 countries participating, Earthdance has grown to over 300 locations in 6…0 countries participating in 2007, with locations ranging from the club-lands of New York to the rainforests of Brazil. Every year, in alignment with the International Day of Peace, over 200,000 people unite in dance with hundreds of thousands more joining online in support of global peace and humanitarian aims.

September 18, 2010 is this year’s Earthdance day, when individuals, private gatherings and public events across the globe celebrate and activate peace through creative expression, activism and community-building – all joining in the Prayer for Peace at the same powerful moment!

2010’s focus is Embracing All Traditions – recognizing and honoring the diversity of faiths and cultures that make up our human family.

This year Earthdance will observe this theme during 8 Days of Peace starting on Earthdance day and culminating in a worldwide synchronized Prayer for Peace in the Holy Land, in collaboration with One Peace Jerusalem. The Earthdance Network and Earthdance.TV will present a range of exclusive content related to the theme during the week, including Expressions of Peace – photos, videos and music tracks – submitted by the Earthdance community. Many Earthdance promoters will also be holding events on this day.

The defining moment of each Earthdance event is a synchronized link-up, when every event around the world plays a specially produced song called “The Prayer for Peace” at exactly the same time.

Earthdance has been described by the music industry as the “Dance Aid” for the new millennium. The aim of the event is to bring together global communities to create a synchronized global festival and dance event to help fund humanitarian causes and develop an environment of peace throughout the global community.

Earthdance is a non-political event and is organized by Earthdance International, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

Join us on the Earthdance Network!
http://www.earthdancenetwork.com/group/chilluminati

Three days and two nights of psychedelic music, art, performance, workshops, and community.

The cost for the event is $45 in advance and $60 at the gate. Ages 18+ only, no children (new campground rules).

WE PROVIDE: 2 stages of sound and light, 3 days of camping in a beautiful natural environment (rain or shine), running water, bathrooms and hot showers, full vending (including alcohol for those 21+).

YOU PROVIDE: a tent, enough food and beverages for the weekend (or some cash – food and beverages will be available for sale), NO GLASS, NO DRUGS, NO PETS, NO FIREWOOD (firewood can be purchased on-site). Please respect the venue by keeping the grounds free of litter. *This is a LEAVE NO TRACE EVENT* (yes, this includes beverage containers and cigarette butts!) Become part of the community. Help the planet, and help us. Pick up after yourself. Leave the site, and our reputation as a community, better than you found it.

// THE PAKA PAKA LIGHTSHOW (Milwaukee – www.pakapaka.org)

The Paka Paka Lightshow consists of the father & son team Jerry and Reuben Fortier and long time collaborator Dale Kaminski. In 1968, Fortier founded the Eyes of Khamphalous Lightshow in Madison, WI. As the visuals behind the Broadway production of “Warp” and the resident lightshow for the Melkweg and Paradiso clubs in Amsterdam from 1969 to 1972, the Khamphalous Lightshow created a unique psychedelic visual experience. The Paka Paka Lightshow brings this experience into the digital age.

// VJ eNdo (Video Alchemy ~ AZ)

eNdo is a video alchemist from the desert southwest who has established himself as a staple among the U.S. psytrance community. Having conjured distinct, beat-driven visuals for over ten years, his recipe for mind-melting and energizing video art has continually been refined to raise vibrations and engage dancefloors across the country. From metaphysical and esoteric imagery, morphing organics, and glitchy dysfunctional computer output, your retinas will be taken on a journey from the microcosm to the macrocosm and everything in between. Be sure to strap your brains in and hold on tight!

i was lucky enough to play my first european gig in paris at a massive rainforest benefit show at a convention center downtown. there were three rooms of goodness, and i was asked to play sets with a slightly different feel in both, which was a nice challenge :)

the first set was at midnight on the ‘chill’ stage and i was asked to play something more dubby – i ended up getting a little crunchier than i’d planned on but that seemed to be what the crowd wanted so i decided to oblige! things got a little hairy at the end when i think i played longer than i was supposed to due to a miscommunication with the sound crew about the setup for the next act, but nobody seemed terribly put out.

the second set was at 11am on the ‘alternative’ stage, and i was still a bit groggy from taking a nap backstage when i went on. i was playing after a progressive trance act and before somebody who said they planned on starting with hard dubstep and progressing into dnb, and i think i did a pretty decent job of bridging the gap. i was very surprised by the size & energy level of the crowd for this one, and really enjoyed having a rocking dancefloor at that time in the morning!
